MING COURT WINS TWO AWARDS IN THE SAME WEEK - BEST NEW CHINESE RESTAURANT & CHINA TOP 10 CHINESE RESTAURANTS

Shanghai, China, November 2012. The Langham Xintiandi’s signature restaurant Ming Court has received two highly acclaimed awards in the same week: Shanghai Daily’s iDeal Shanghai 2012 Award for ‘Best New Chinese Restaurant’ and The 9th Golden-Pillow Award of China Hotels ‘China Top 10 Chinese Restaurants’.
Shanghai Daily’s inaugural iDeal Shanghai awards recognises the most popular restaurants of the year as voted by their readers and a jury of six reporters, columnists and lifestyle writers.
The Golden-Pillow Award is co-founded by leading Chinese media publications: 21st Century Business Herald, Business Herald and Business Travel magazines. Winners are decided by readers and ‘mystery judges’ who personally inspect every restaurant and hotel.
General Manager Mr John O’Shea congratulated the Ming Court team and praised them for their hard work and dedication in making Ming Court a highly sought-after dining destination.
Located on Level 5 of The Langham Xintiandi, Ming Court offers specialty Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine. Ming Court is also the sibling restaurant to Hong Kong’s two-Michelin star Ming Court restaurant located at Langham Place in Mongkok.
Since it opened in 2011, diners have been enjoying both traditional and contemporary Chinese food prepared by the talented Chef Su, a local Shanghainese, who has already garnered a loyal following for his modern take on Cantonese and Shanghainese dishes.
From the moment they arrive on Level 5, guests are warmly welcomed by a hostess elegantly dressed by internationally renowned Shanghai fashion designer Lu Kun.
Guests can then choose to dine in the intimate surrounds of Ming Court’s a-la-carte dining room or celebrate with family and friends in one of nine private dining rooms offering views overlooking Xintiandi.
With the festive season and Chinese New Year just around the corner, Ming Court will be offering a selection of special menus throughout the celebration. To reserve one of Ming Court’s private dining rooms during the Chinese New Year, bookings are highly recommended and can be made online via the restaurant’s website.
In addition to the festive menus, Ming Court is also showcasing the popular Shanghai delicacy of Hairy Crabs on its menu. People travel from far-away to devour this tasty crab and guests can enjoy some of Chef Su’s specialty Hairy Crab menus until the end of January, 2013.
If it is business that guests need to attend then Ming Court also offers a selection of business set lunches starting from RMB280+ or on the weekends guests can indulge in all-you-can-eat dim sum for just RMB158+.
Combining exquisite design, service with poise and exciting flavours, Ming Court promises a unique dining experience for lunch or dinner, seven days a week.
